A Gift

Religion that God our Father accepts
as pure and faultless is this:
to look after orphans and widows
in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted
by the world.
James 2:17
Jessi came over today and brought w/ her this gift.  A necklace made by the hands of a Masese woman.  I am so proud to wear it!!!!

And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.
Micah 6:8

This morning we headed back to the hospital.  Grandmother still seemed alright.  The doctors were giving her 2 options: 1.  A bypass surgery that would have her back to normal after recovery or 2.  Medication that would still give her a high likelihood of having another major heart attack in the next 6 months.  She was opting for #1.  However, on the drive home she got news that she wouldn't likely survive the surgery much less live till Wednesday (the day they had scheduled the surgery for).  SO, they decided to go ahead and put a stint in tomorrow.  Praying, praying.

A Visit to Jackson

But let all who take refuge in you be glad;
let them ever sing for joy.  Spread you protection over them,
that those who love your name may rejoice in you.
For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous;
you surround them with your favor as with a shield.
Psalm 5:11-12

Today Billy left work early so that we could drive to Jackson and check on his Grandmother.  She seemed to be doing OK considering and it was nice to see family.  We stayed w/ friends from San Antonio and stayed up way too late catching up!!!

Groundhog's Day

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for
and certain of what we do not see.
                                                                   Hebrews 11:1

We found out this morning we watched Punxsutawney Phil predict more winter.  Which is humorous b/c it doesn't seem like we've had any winter so far at all.  Such warm weather in East Texas...but he has given the children hope.  Hope for snow....

Seed Catalogs

As the rain and the snow come down from heaven,
and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
so is my word that goes out of my mouth;
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
Isaiah 55:10
Yesterday Billy's grandmother had a heart attack.  I was in no mood to take photos :(
We have been getting seed catalogs in the mail like crazy.  And with all this warm weather I have spring fever like crazy!  I have been circling all the plants I would like to get for our yard.  I need to keep in mind that if it is this beautiful in February...chances are, come July everything will be thirsting to death!

Chicken Watching

This is the day that the Lord has made
let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24
Today was so beautiful!  We can't get over this weather.  Will and I gave the chickens some grass and watched them for awhile and enjoyed the warm sunshine.

Game Night

If you have faith as small as a mustard seed,
you can say to this mountain,
'Moe from here to there' and it will move.
Nothing will be impossible for you.
Matthew 17:21

Tonight the littles fell asleep early so Billy and I and the big girls played Clue.  I love this game and the girls did too.  Suzannah got the hang of it and Molly Beth was my helper.  Billy is a force to be reckoned with!!  He beat us badly.  I have a feeling there will be a request for a rematch.  :)
